Over Christmas Cllr Cathy Scott and Cllr Eric Firth were supporting residents by delivering food across Dewsbury East from the Chickenley Hub.
This is work that they have been doing since April, leading the community response to the pandemic alongside their other councillor duties.
With a new national lockdown announced by Boris Johnson this evening, including the reintroduction of shielding, it is expected that this support will become ever more essential.
Cllrs Scott and Firth stated:
‘We know that the pandemic has been really difficult for everyone and, with a new national lockdown announced, the next few weeks will be no different.
‘We will be continuing our work to ensure that we are here for our residents – whatever the weather.
