The Leader of the Labour Party, Keir Starmer MP, has today confirmed that Labour’s position on Kashmir has not changed from last year and continues to back the rights of Kashmiris.

In his letter to the Muslim Council of Britain, Starmer confirmed Labour’s position stating that the party continues to support the UN resolutions on Kashmir, and remains committed to the primacy of human rights and democracy.

Starmer also re-affirmed Labour’s commitment to defending the human and democratic rights of Kashmiris in a recent online meeting with Labour MPs and the Chair of Labour Friends of Kashmir.

The Labour leader has also offered meetings to the Muslim Council of Britain and the Labour Friends of Kashmir to discuss this vital issue.
